Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate a large crew of field personnel on a daily basis, and delegate all roles and responsibilities.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors, and have a proven track record in doing so.
  • Understand labor and material reports and accurately analyze money and manpower available for specific work activities and their associated cost codes.
  • Understand cost codes and code weekly payroll.
  • Consistently prove the ability to manage money on assigned projects.
  • Look at the big project picture while making decisions on specific tasks. Recognize how Graham Construction work affects subcontractors and make the best judgments for the project.
  • Provide alternatives and encourage creativity among fellow workers.
  • Understand Graham Yard and/or vendor rental procedures, material transfers, equipment usages, maintenance of equipment, cost implications, etc.
  • Create & maintain detailed 6-week project schedule in Excel (Requirement: Excel training course completed and/or proven ability to establish/maintain schedule).
  • Understand process for creating meeting agenda/minutes for foreman meetings (competent with project management software).
  • Read/understand/implement bid packages after job is awarded.
  • Perform “1st Installation Verifications” and understand “how to build” project from multiple trade standpoint.
  • Review, mark up, and approve/process submittals/shop drawings (competent with project management software.
  • Coordinate and manage multiple subcontractors/trades.
  • Understand how to build in an efficient/effective manner.
  • Contribute to pull sessions with multiple trades.
  • Complete daily reports (competent with project management software).
  • Manage Graham tool and equipment inventory on jobsite.
  • Assist in and contribute to all required jobsite inspections (city/state/AHJ/OSHA).
  • Demonstrate The Graham Mentality: Complete every project from an owner’s point of view.

Communication

  • Promote Graham Construction internally and externally.
  • Interact with the entire project team (architect, engineers, subcontractors, inspectors, vendors, etc.) who may come to the jobsite to tour the project, discuss issues, or make requests requiring action by Graham Construction. In these interactions, the superintendent must be perceived by the project team as competent and capable.
  • Communicate effectively with entire project team (architect, engineers, subcontractors, inspectors, vendors, etc.) on any project issues/problems.
  • Demonstrate skill and open-mindedness in listening, problem solving, and running effective meetings.

Safety

  • Promote a culture of safety at all levels of the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, state and federal laws, OSHA, building codes, non-discrimination requirements, etc.
  • Ensure that Preconstruction Risk Assessments are completed and all infection control measures are in place and maintained.
  • Show strong awareness of jobsite safety. Display a strong safety attitude at all times and model it for crew members and subcontractors.

Quality Assurance & Quality Control/Owner & Customer Relations

  • Read and understand drawings and specifications thoroughly in order to make proper judgments.
  • Perform “1st Installation Verifications” and possess knowledge of “how to build” project from multiple trade standpoint.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date as-builts in paper format.
  • Demonstrate draftsman quality – straight edge/legible/accurate.
  • Lead punch list efforts (create & complete tasks).

Staff Leadership

  • Manage and coordinate field personnel on a daily basis, and delegate all roles and responsibilities.
  • Mentor project team.
  • Attend all superintendent meetings.
  • Display a positive attitude toward Graham Construction in all work dealings and ensure the work crew does the same. Ensure subcontractors and suppliers see this positive attitude displayed.
  • Demonstrate The Graham Mentality: Complete every project from an owner’s point of view.

Preconstruction

  • Assist in establishing initial site logistics plan, construction phasing plans, and overall project schedule. Work with PM and/or Sr. Superintendent on final review.
